A Call for Hope and Healing: Venitia Beene's Story

A Call for Hope and Healing: Venitia Beene's Story

Hello, my name is Venitia Beene, and I’m 53 years old, living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Eighteen years ago, I was diagnosed with Lupus, a condition that has significantly impacted my life. Due to complications from Lupus, I now face Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Failure and am in urgent need of a kidney from a living donor.

Each day, I take 34 pills, undergo monthly infusions, and receive plasmapheresis treatments. Despite these challenges, my faith in God remains unwavering. His grace and mercy sustain me, and I firmly believe that He will guide me through this difficult journey.

I’ve been through so much already. At one point, I suffered a stroke that led to seizures, all caused by Lupus. These were life-or-death situations. Afterward, I had to go through extensive physical, speech, and occupational therapy to regain my strength. It was incredibly hard, and I often cried because each time I made progress, it felt like I would take three steps back, starting over again and again.

But I’m a fighter, and I’ve been blessed. No matter how difficult it gets, I keep pushing forward. I’ve already had two kidney transplants, and I’ve never been on dialysis—I don’t want to be. That’s why I’m asking for your help. I need another kidney transplant to keep going, and I truly believe God will bless me with this gift soon.

I’ve faced many ups and downs, but through it all, I still have joy. I trust in God, and I know that He’s going to see me through this. I continue to share my story with others, and I’m not afraid to do so. I believe my journey can help others dealing with multiple health issues, just as they inspire me. Even on my toughest days, I find joy in telling my story, and it brings me comfort.

People often ask how I stay positive, and I tell them—it’s God. Yes, there are many days when I don’t feel like doing anything, but listening to my gospel music lifts me up and reminds me of the goodness in life.

So, I ask you—if you can, please consider helping me by becoming a kidney donor or passing along my story. Your support could give me the precious gift of life, and I will be forever grateful. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming my kidney donor contact Froedtert Living Kidney Donor Program at 414-805-0310 and let them know you'd like to get tested for Venitia Beene.

I appreciate you considering becoming my donor!

God Bless you,

Venitia Beene

Hi Niecypoo, I am deeply sadden to hear about what you’re going through again.
As I read your story, I am reminded of the journey we’ve shared since your mom and I became best friends when you were just a year old. Through every episode and each kidney transplant, I have been by your side. It’s been 52 years filled with love for you, your mom, your dad, and your brothers. You all have been my extended family, and I would do anything for you guys. Please know that I was there for you in the past, and I am here for you now and always. My prayers are lifted up to God, and I truly believe that if He has seen you through these challenges twice, He can do it again. You can count on me to always be there for you.
With all my love and support Bettie
